How we work
Code of Ethics
Trust is built through concrete decisions. These rules define how we deal with municipalities, partners, residents and each other.
The Code applies to the management and team members of KONCEDO during the preparation, implementation and operation of projects. It builds on our contractual obligations and our duty to comply with applicable regulations. It serves as a common benchmark for day-to-day work and for situations in which a decision must be made as to the correct course of action.
01
Open and clear communication
We give municipalities, landowners and other partners a clear description of the project, its benefits, possible impacts and open questions. We distinguish between verified facts, assumptions and goals. We do not promise the outcome of the permitting process or deadlines we cannot influence.
We provide timely information on any significant changes. We document the agreed actions, responsible persons and next steps from meetings so that all participants are working on the basis of the same information.
02
Respect for municipalities and their residents
We respect the right of municipalities to make their own decisions and the right of residents to ask questions and to disagree. We create room for discussion while the project is still being prepared. We consider comments on their merits and explain how we have taken them into account, or why we cannot accommodate them.
We set out the terms of cooperation and the benefits for the municipality specifically and in writing. We do not mistake talks with individuals for the consent of the whole municipality, and we do not put pressure on its representatives.
03
Responsible planning and care for the landscape
When developing wind farms, we assess the suitability of the site, technical feasibility and impacts on the surrounding area. We involve relevant experts in the planning process. We pay close attention to noise, the character of the landscape, the natural environment, transport during construction and coexistence with other land uses.
We do not conceal any identified risks. We seek measures to mitigate them and amend the project if the supporting documentation shows that the original solution is not acceptable. Even at the planning stage, we take into account the safe operation, maintenance and decommissioning of the facilities.
04
Expertise, safety and responsibility
We base our decisions on up-to-date information and the expertise of the people responsible for the relevant area. Before taking key steps, we assess technical, financial and implementation risks. We clearly define responsibilities and document significant decisions, along with the reasons behind them.
People’s safety takes precedence over pressure to meet deadlines or keep costs down. If we identify a serious shortcoming, we ensure that it is assessed and rectified before the activity in question continues.
05
Honest conduct and conflicts of interest
We neither offer nor accept bribes, hidden commissions or personal benefits in return for influencing decisions. Gifts and hospitality must not create any obligation or cast doubt on our impartiality. We conduct our cooperation with public officials openly and with respect for their role.
We report any personal or financial ties that may influence decision-making to management in advance. A person in such a situation does not decide alone on the choice of partner or the terms of cooperation. We record the chosen course of action.
06
Fair relationships with partners and suppliers
We select partners based on their expertise, quality, reliability and ability to meet the agreed terms. We clarify the criteria before making a decision. We do not accept commitments that we know we cannot fulfil, and we respect the confidentiality of tenders.
Contracts must clearly specify the scope of work, price, responsibilities and the procedure for making changes. We fulfil our commitments properly and on time. We expect our partners to uphold a similar standard of integrity, safety and respect for people.
07
Protecting information and respecting people
We handle personal data, business information and project documentation only to the extent necessary for the specific purpose. We grant access only to those who need it for their work. We ensure that documents are shared, stored and transferred securely.
Within our team and when dealing with partners, we reject discrimination, humiliation and harassment. We address differing opinions objectively. We expect professionalism and appropriate behaviour regardless of job position.
08
Raising concerns and putting things right
If our conduct does not comply with these principles, we want to know about it. You can raise a concern with the project contact person or send it to info@koncedo.cz. A description of the situation, the project name and any available supporting documentation will help us to assess the matter. Please only share information that is necessary for the concern.
We pass every concern to management for assessment; if it concerns a specific person, that person must not handle it themselves. We treat the information discreetly and share it only with those who need it to look into the matter. We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a problem in good faith. We put right any shortcomings we find and adjust our procedures so they do not happen again.
